2017 RLSC EDUCATIONAL CONFERENCE
"...focus on environmental benefits of sustainable RL was more prominent (than other conferences)"
“A relaxed, open atmosphere…”
“The attendees are always great and engaging.”
“Tours are valuable”
Those are just a few of the comments from the attendees to the 2017 RLSC Educational Conference held on March 6, 7, and 8 at the Hilton Dallas/Rockwall Lakefront! Here is a summary of the great information and educational content that was shared at this year’s conference:
Dr. Dale Rogers (Arizona State University) discussed the future of the reverse logistics through the lens of omni-channel retailing;
Carol Baroudi (Arrow Value Recovery) addressed "ll Things Sustainable”;
Tom Orlando (US Cellular) led a discussion about the practical application of some concepts he learned at last year’s RLSC Educational Conference;
Jim Rallso (UPS) focused the state of sustainability and its impact on the waste stream;
Dr. Zac Rogers (Colorado State University) presented his latest research on the state of the global secondary market;
Shawn Cunnie (AG Reverse) highlighted the growth and focus of the secondary market in third world markets;
Steve Ellmore (CyclePoint) challenged the industry to change the world through more thoughtful application of non-profits organizations, particular those helping persons with disabilities;
Don Rombach (The Jay Group) drilled into best practices that drive real value with sustainability and reverse logistics;
Scott Searls (Asurion) outline the new paradigm of next best economic use;
Joy Hicks (The Home Depot), Tom Orlando (US Cellular), Jim Brill (UPS), Dr, Dale Rogers (Arizona State University) and Jerry Davis (RLSC) closed with the RLSC Thought Leader Panel that discussed topics such as the ‘Trump Effect’ on reverse logistics, practical applications in sustainability, the reverse logistics of internet-of-things, and profitable alliances with charities.
In addition there was a great tour of the Arrow Value Recovery Center, eight (8) private meeting rooms used for one-on-one interactions, and over eight (8) hours of structured networking time! Special thanks to Mary Irene Platt of Amazon for her intentional efforts to schedule meetings with all attendees that were interested!
and… just for fun… there was a VIP tour of AT&T Stadium, home of the Dallas Cowboys where attendees were able to tour the locker rooms and see the secrets behind ‘Jerry’s TV’.
The RLSC’s goal is to provide an intimate atmosphere of dedicated reverse logistics professionals focused on useful educational content and great opportunities for developing relationships and by all accounts we did just that! We were proud, once again, to provide this service to the reverse logistics industry.
We are currently finalizing the details for our next conference and will keep you posted. If you aren’t part of our network currently and would like to be included in our updates please let us know – CONTACT US.
